Sweep Preparation

 Sweep Preparation
Please take a few minutes to review how to prepare for your chimney sweep.

We are looking forward to being of service to you. In preparation for your sweep, we ask that you please follow the guidelines below:

Be sure that your stove/fireplace has not been used for at least twelve hours prior to your appointment.

Please inform us if there is a gate code and/or special directions, as Google Maps is not always accurate.

Please have a parking spot available for us. We use multiple ladders, a large vacuum, and rods and brushes - thanks for your consideration.

Clear everything from your hearth and mantel, allowing for at least four feet of clear space around fireplace.

Make sure that there is reasonable access to the roof and a clear space for our ladders as well as a working outlet for our vacuum.

During the winter, please shovel your walkway and/or driveway so that our technicians can safely move their ladders and other equipment. (A $25 fee will be added if we have to shovel our own path. Thank you for your consideration!)

For their safety, please keep pets and children clear of the fireplace.

Your technician will need approximately 20 minutes of your time to report on the health of your chimney / fireplace after the sweep is completed. This is a huge part of your service!

If you have a manual for your wood burning stove or insert, it is helpful to have that handy.

Payment is due at the time of service. We accept checks and cash. We can accept credit cards through PayPal for a $10 processing fee.

Please note that your sweep may be rescheduled if extreme ice and/or snow conditions are present. This is extremely rare, but we thank you for your understanding.

We cannot be held responsible for broken or damaged baffle boards or bricks. Please visit www.woodheat.org for information on maintaining your stove and fireplace.

Please don't hesitate to ask if you should have any questions, call or text 303.968.0036 or email office@alpinechimneysweep.com.
